HC vacates its earlier stay on a suspension order by PPT

Based on the findings and the charge sheet by the Bhubaneswar wing of the CBI that Mr. Saroj Kumar Misro , the Port Traffic Manager, had assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, the authorities of Paradeep Port Trust suspended Mr.Misro in May this year, as per the Paradeep Port Employees (Classification, Control and Appeal) Regulation of 1967. The Orissa High Court had granted a stay restraining the authorities from giving effect to the suspension order.  On being informed, however, by the port authorities that the Central Government had approved the suspension order, the Division Bench of Justices Mr. B.P.Das and Mr.B.K.Nayak vacated the stay it had earlier granted in July. With the stay now being vacated, the port authorities are no more restrained from implementing the suspension order. The CBI had recommended that the port authorities must proceed with their regular departmental action against Mr.Misro.
