
The international airlines such as Singapore Airlines,Luthansa and Virgin Atlantic do not appear to be in favour of the hike in airport charges in Indian airports like Indira Gandhi International airport. British Airways has started studying its operations in India. Christopher Fordyce, British Airways ‘ Regional Commercial Manager (South Asia) said: “ With the massive hike in airport charges , which are very high, we have been left with no other alternative but to revisit our strategy and assess route profitability”. He admitted that airport development is important but “passengers will be affected “by these hikes in charges. With regard to the in-flight menu, he said a suitable in-flight menu will be provided in collaboration with Oberoi Flight Services on all its flights from Delhi and Mumbai airports. He added: “We are now launching a refreshed menu, especially created and launched for Indian customers”.
