V.O.C Port organizes free eye, dental camp

As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, V. O. Chidambaranar Port Trust and Vasan Eye Care jointly organised a free eye and dental camp on Oct.  5, which was inaugurated by Mr. S. Natarajan, Deputy Chairman of the Port Trust, in the presence of Dr. Panneer Selvam, Deputy General Manager, Vasan Eye Care.

In a Press statement, Mr. Paul Antony, Chairman in-charge, said a large of general public from Labour Colony, Tsunami Colony and Port Colony were benefited for eye ailments like distant and near vision, glaucoma, corneal ulcer, cataract, paediatric eye disease and dental ailments like tooth extraction, filling, root canal treatment, scaling and missing tooth replacements.

In his address, Mr. Natarajan emphasised the need for eye check-up periodically and for awareness about eye donation. Dr. A. Annadurai, Senior Deputy CMO, V. O. Chidambaranar Port Trust, and Mr. Nazer, Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax, port union leaders and Labour Trustees also spoke. Dr. Joseph Sunder, Senior Medical Officer, proposed a vote of thanks.
