The aim will be firming up bilateral and multi-lateral relationships to improve industrial standards; they will also focus on technology innovation and overall development of the ports. They learn from one another’s experience.Mr. Chen Xuyuan , Chairman of SIPG, pointed out that choosing Shanghai as the venue for the first Global Ports Leaders’ Conference proved that Shanghai has a role to play as the global shipping centre. The next Conference in 2013 will be held in Singapore with the theme focusing on environment, safety and security.
