
DHL Supply Chain, an established global leader in contract logistics solution, would further invest Euro 100 million to firm up further its logistics infrastructure in India. It will develop 8 world-class Multi-Client Sites (MCS) across India in addition to upgrading its existing fleet of vehicles technologically so as to meet the demands of its customers. The new MCS facilities would include an additional 5 million square feet of warehousing space, an inevitable need for any logistics solution. They will be located at very important cities like Mumbai, Gurgaon, Delhi (NCR), Bengaluru, Nagpur, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.Mr.Paul Graham, Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, DHL Supply Chain, looks upon India as a growing market and a key driver of growth. He observed: “With these new warehouses and our continued investment in our people, we are taking another step in the right direction to pursue DHL‘s global strategy and support Indian business development”. In all the MCS facilities DHL would exploit the best operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce cost. The facilities would have RFID technology, wind assisted ventilation, completely secure warehouses with CCTV, intruder alarms and traffic management systems. Mr. Vikas Anand, Chief Operating Officer, India, Supply Chain, said that their “sites will use green technology like LED lighting and wind assisted ventilation in line with the company’s commitment to improving the carbon efficiency of its own operators …”. DHL Supply Chain exhibits in all its activities its sense of corporate social responsibility.
