Krishnapatnam Port opened world-class container terminal

In a press conference organized by Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited (KPCL) on Septermber 27, 2012 at Taj, Mumbai, the CEO, Krishnapatnam Port, Mr. Anil Yendluri said in his welcome address: “Indeed, it is a pride movement for us as Krishnapatnam Port, one of the most advanced and largest ports in India, opened the gates of its ‘World Class Container Terminal’ for trade, connecting India with Eastern and Western parts of the world”. A moment of pride richly deserved. Krishnapatnam Port, with a total investment of approximately USD billion, is an all-weather container terminal with an initial annual capacity of 1.2 Mn TEUs, extendable to 6 Mn TEUs. Mr. Anil Yendluri told the reporters that they “will invest another $ 2 billion in the next five to six years to increase capacity in both the bulk and the container segments”. He also added that there would be no competition because of Ramayapatnam port since the market opportunity was large enough for both the ports.
