NYK Group’s ‘More than Shipping 2013

The global growth of NYK and its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are mutual influences. Its 2012 CSR report, apart from detailing its activities that focus on achieving sustainable societies, highlights two significant facts:  automobile logistics and human resources for seafarers. It will take efforts to develop an automobile logistics to fulfill the customers’ needs and at the same time to try to reduce the environmental load by means of technology. As for the human resources for seafarers, it will try to establish its own merchant marine academy and a ship management company in the Philippines. Both will bring great advantage to the local communities by providing education as well by creating job opportunities. As a socially conscious good corporate citizen, NYK will evince concern in social issues like conservation of environment. The goal of the group is “to create a comprehensive logistics group that is a world leader in the provision of global marine, land and air services. We call this Monohakobi”.
