Merolyn Engineering in the bid for dredgers to Bangladesh

Merolyn Engineering Works Private Limited(MEWPL), in the marine field since 1956,  and a bona fide ship builder with a long meritorious experience of construction of different kinds of watercrafts, is now in the fray  to supply six dredgers to Bangladesh,  worth $600 million (approximately Rs.3,300 crore). MEWPL constructs pontoons, gangways, cargo lighters, bump barges. They execute different types of motor launches for Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers and 300 T Sullage Barge under sub-contract for Indian Navy. Merolyn ‘s presence is not new to Bangladesh; it has already participated in the Bangladesh Inland Waterways Transport’s tender for three dredgers which was floated last month. It is understood that the Bangladesh Government would utilize the $ 1 billion loan by EXIM Bank of India to acquire the dredgers.
