JSW Jaigarh Port to handle containers soon

JSW Jaigarh port, a Greenfield port at Dhamankhol bay in Jaigarh , is a 100% subsidiary of JSW Infrastructure and Logistics Limited, is readying itself, belts and braces, to handle containers soon. It has already proved its capacity to handle Bulk and Break Bulk cargoes such as coal, limestone, iron ore and even liquid cargo such as molasses. Now adding one more dimension to the port operations, its containerized shipping operations are likely to commence in August itself. With strategic location to its credit, it is intensively proceeding to become soon as the major gateway port to the regions of central Maharashtra and northern Karnataka. The deepest water port in Maharashtra with a state-of-the –art technology and expert manpower, the port aims at becoming a dynamic modern port that might meet international standards. With already two operating berths, the port has planned to add eight more berths; once the plan is completed, the port will have the capacity of 50 million tonnes.
