An enviable feather in JNPT cap

An urgent need of the day is to promote environment protection in every possible way so that the earth remains habitable and healthy for future generations. Its importance cannot be overemphasized.  And very delightful news is that JNPT has received the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2012 from the Institute of Directors (IOD), New Delhi. Mr. L. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, JNPT, had the honour of receiving the award from Mr. Karan Singh, former Cabinet Minister, Government of India, and now MP. The award was given in the 14th World Congress on Environment Management held in New Delhi. The jury meant for this purpose had Justice Mr. P. N. Bhagwati as the Chairman. Mr. Bhagwati was the former Chief Justice of India and Member, UN Human Rights Commission. In his thanks-giving speech, Mr. Radhakrishnan attributed the success in winning this award to JNPT’s management and employees’ genuine concern for environment, clean energy, waste management, occupational health and so on.
