Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone(APSEG} Limited is India’s largest private port and special economic zone. It announced just recently that it would build a terminal through its unit Adani Kandla Bulk Terminal Private Limited, a terminal at Kandla Port in Gujarat investing about INR 12 billion. According to the company statement, the terminal, which will be built in just 24 months, will have a capacity of 20 million metric tonnes per annum. APSEZ is a part of Adani Group which, with a magnificent logistics facilities at command, aims at increasing its annual cargo handling capacity from 78 million metric tonnes in 2012 to 200 metric tonnes by 2020. The present surge is a testimony to the confidence it has inspired in the stakeholders. It owns and operates ports Mundra and Dahej in India, besides developing ports at Hazira, Mormugao, Visakhapatnam and Kandla in India; it also operates port Abbot Point in Australia, in addition to developing Dudgeon Point in Australia.
