As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, Chennai Port Trust, in association with Voluntary Health Services Hospital, Adyar, Chennai, and North Chennai Fisherman Villages United Forum, conducted a medical camp for women residing in and around Fisheries Harbour Area, Kasimedu, on Dec. 8.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. S. Suresh, Secretary, VHS Hospital, in the presence of Mr. Atulya Misra, Chairman, Chennai Port Trust. The camp was coordinated jointly by Mr. C. Harichandran, Secretary, ChPT and Dr. Janaki, Director, VHS Hospital.
Around 250 women were screened during the camp for ailments like diabetics, blood pressure, cervical cancer and general health.
Doctors specialized in Gynaecology from Voluntary Health Services Hospital, Adyar, screened the patients. During the camp various tests were conducted and according to the diagnosis, medicines were distributed by Chennai Port Trust.
