Port staff told to be vigilant

Vigilance Awareness Week celebration was observed in V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust from Oct. 29 to Nov. 5, as per the directive of the Central Vigilance Commission. As part of the celebration, Mr. S. Natarajan, Deputy Chairman of the port, flagged off the Vigilance Rally near VOCPT Round-tana. All the Heads of Departments, officers and employees of the port took part in the rally.

Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, Chief Vigilance Officer, and the Deputy Chairman of the Port Trust, administered the Anti-Corruption Pledge at the Administrative Office to inaugurate programme.

The Chief Vigilance Officer and the Deputy Chairman observed that vigilance is an integral part of all activities of the port and exhorted all the employees to be very vigilant to bring out transparency in administration and eradicate corruption in public life.

Various programmes including essay, slogan, writing and elocution competitions open to school and college students, employees of port and CISF were conducted during the course of the celebration.
