Ministry team at Haldia Port

A three-member team from the Union Ministry of Shipping visited Haldia Port on Nov. 16 to carry out an “internal inquiry” into the recent imbroglio.

According to a Kolkata Port Trust (KOPT) official, who did not want to disclose his identity, the team comprised Mr. S. Tripathy, Deputy Secretary (ST), Ministry of Shipping; Mr. Anuj Agrawal, public private partnership expert of the Ministry, and Mr. A. Janardhana Rao, Managing Director of Indian Ports Association.

The KoPT official said the Ministry has ordered an inquiry to look into the law and order situation at Haldia dock complex. “The team will also investigate the impasse that led ABG-LDA-run contractor Haldia Bulk Terminals to exit from Haldia,” he added.
