In a delivery ceremony held at Jaya’s ship yard in Tuas in the presence of senior executives from Jaya and Atlantic Towing and other friends, President, Shipbuilding and Ship repair at Jaya, Mr. Siew Koon Lim said: “Jaya Supreme is the largest and most advanced vessel to be built at our shipyard. A challenging task, it is therefore, a source of great pride for us to deliver a vessel of such complexity to the precise requirements of our clients.” The vessel is to be re-named as Atlantic Kestrel which is one of the most sophisticated offshore vessels ever built in Singapore. The 85 meter vessel with the Singapore flag is classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) . For deep waters offshore drilling, this kind of vessel will prove a great help. Mr. George Horsington, President, Business Development, Jaya Holdings, aptly remarked: “The delivery of Jaya Supreme sends a clear signal we are ready and able to supply the technically vessels needed”.
Highly maneuverable Jaya Supreme’s main engines deliver over 16,000 bhp power output with a constant bollard pull of 211 metric tons. Built to Wartsila’s VS4622 design and with Clean Design notation from DNV that limits air emissions and sea pollution, the ship’s 22 meter beam gives it a great stability even in the roughest seas of North Atlantic Winter. The other great facilities of much value are DYNPOS-AUTR Dynamic Positioning (Class 2) , two bow thrusters and two in the stern and a bridge designed for Naut-OSV (A) rotation. Above all, it is fitted with 400 tonne line-pull Brattvaag anchor handling and towing winch.
Jaya Supreme’s sister ship, the Jaya Sovereign will be delivered in November 2013, just within a year.
