The strike at TVS Logistics comes to an end

About 1,300 workers of TVS Logistics Services Limited at Hyundai’s factory near Irungattukottai near Chennai struck work demanding negotiated wage settlement, the reinstatement of a worker dismissed and revoking suspension of three other workers. With the mediation of the Tamil Nadu Labour Department, the strike was called off on the third day. In a statement, the official spokesperson of the TVS Logistics Limited said that they were glad that the strike had been called off “during the conciliation talks held by the Assistant Commissioner Labour today”. Affirming the company’s commitment to its fair, principled and transparent stand on the issue, the statement continued: “TVS Logistics will continue to work with the concerned relevant stakeholders and through the Government machinery to bring this issue to a logical conclusion bearing in mind the interests and welfare of its workmen”.
