Haldia dispute to knock doors of High Court

The ABG-LDA-led cargo handler Haldia Bulk Terminal (HBT) will move Calcutta High Court saying the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) and the district administration have failed to improve the law and order situation at Haldia Dock Complex (HDC).

Mr. Gurpreet Malhi, Chief Executive Officer of HBT, said: “As law and order situation remains grim at Haldia Port, we have decided to move the High Court. We have already requested KoPT and the East Midnapore district administration to restore the law and order situation at the port, but it did not improve.”

Mr. Malhi also said that they have convened several meetings with port officials, urging them to improve the situation inside the port, but failed to get adequate response.
