
On September 23, the vessel,
m.v.Allcargo Arati called at
New Mangalore Port with a cargo of 400 tonnes salt from
Kandla Port. The entire consignment was discharged and the vessel left the port on Monday.

said that the port has been taking constant efforts to increase the
cargo volume of the coastal trade by handling diversified cargo such as
salt. In fact, the consignment consisted of different kinds of salt such
as free flow loose salt and iodized salt. A local distributor had this
cargo of salt for distribution. The Chairman said that the port handles
many essential commodities such as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas),
fertilizers, edible oils and cereals among others. Sri Ganesh Shipping
Agency was the stevedore , handling and clearing and forwarding agency
for the salt cargo at New Mangalore Port.
